10/10's - Ten List of Ten Tips for Digital Filmakers & Professional Videographers
Guerrilla Marketing: 10 Shocking Ways to Promote Your Film. By Amy Katz

6. Instigate a flash mob. To promote a movie about singing nuns, a hundred people in clergy costumes spontaneously start singing "Ave Maria" in the subway station. Of course, this performance art is filmed and goes viral on YouTube.

7. Seize the sidewalk. In 2007, the Cartoon Network placed Lite-Brite images all over Boston to promote "Aqua Teen Hunger Force." In the aftermath of September 11th, many citizens thought the city was under siege by terrorists and CNN aired the story for days, yielding millions of new viewers.

8. Commit car art. In a campaign for the TV show "The Sopranos," taxi cab drivers all over NYC hung a stuffed arm out of their trunks, making it look like they were transporting dead bodies. The bumper sticker next to the arm read, "The Sopranos, only on HBO."

9. Hawk the streets. Rappers make money and promote their music by handing out CD's in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre. To sell your Jesus, Sinner or Saint? video, hand out communion wafers in front of a busy casino or car lot.

10. Be unique. The best tactics have yet to be created. Be bold, take risks: if it doesn't feel edgy, it's too flat. Use metaphor, comedy, emotional appeal. Forge positive, lasting relationships, or shock the pants off of your rivals. Be magnificent. CPM
